Preview: Bull (CBS) - He’ll be taking each case by the horns

Bull

CBS’ Bull stars Michael Weatherly (NCIS) as Dr. Jason Bull, a brilliant trial consultant who uses psychology, his intuition and high tech data to analyse jurors, attorneys, witnesses and the accused. He heads a team of experts at the Trial Analysis Corporation which includes his former brother-in-law Benny Colón (Freddy Rodriguez, Ugly Betty). Bull‘s team members use their expertise to create strategies that will help their clients win their trials. The story is inspired by the early career of Dr. Phil (McGraw), founder of one of the most prolific trial consulting firms of all time.

This trailer predicts good things. Weatherly is a good actor, and the Bull character seems to fit him perfectly. Plus, people seem to love watching series in which people analyse others, like The Mentalist and Criminal Minds. Add to that Bull‘s arrogant but somehow lovable personality, and it’s clear to see this series will be good. At least, Bull will be. As far as the other characters go, I don’t have a clue. Nor do I know what direction the series will take. But for now, I don’t really care. Just give me some more of that Bull and I’ll be watching.

Bull is scheduled opposite Fresh Off The Boat and The Real O’Neals on ABC, No Tomorrow on The CW, Scream Queens on FOX and The Voice on NBC. None of which really feel like they will be a big threat. Not only do they differ from the series a lot, Bull will also have an NCIS lead-in, meaning that all NCIS fans are sure to tune in to see what has become of their beloved Tony DiNozzo.

Bull premieres on Tuesday, September 20th at 9/8c.

Waiting anxiously for the 20th and a reunion with M Weatherly. The cast is full of talent and the writers, directors, producers are some of the best. It’s an interesting concept, too.
