This Friday, The CW went all Oprah Winfrey on us and handed out renewals to every single show currently on its lineup. That means that the obvious choices like Arrow, The Flash, The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow and Jane The Virgin will be back, but also more struggling shows like Reign and The 100. Even the two shows we had predicted to be cancelled, iZombie and Crazy Ex-girlfriend, have both been renewed for new seasons.

Renewing every single show on the lineup is a first for a broadcast network, and shows that The CW is quite unlike the other broadcast networks in that it relies much more heavily on syndication and streaming deals than live viewership (although in that area, series like The Flash can easily compete with shows on the other nets). Still, it will be interesting to see how the youngest broadcast network is going to fit these 11 shows, plus a couple of new series, into its 10-hours-a-week schedule. It will surely mean that some shows will get shorter seasons and may even be shipped off to the summer like Beauty And The Beast was.
