In an unprecedented move, The CW has renewed every single show that is currently on its schedule for a new season. That means that of course shows like Arrow, The Flash, Supernatural, DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow and The Vampire Diaries have been renewed through the 2016-17 season.

However, shows of which the future was a little more uncertain, like Jane The Virgin, Crazy Ex-girlfriend, iZombie, Reign and The 100 have all gotten new seasons.

It is important to note that episode counts have not been announced, and premiere dates will also be announced at a later date. The only thing that we now know is that all these shows (plus several pilots which will inevitably be picked up to series) will air sometime during the 2016-17 season. With only 10 hours of programming available each week, that means at least some of these series will get short seasons or be bumped to spring or summer, just like Beauty And The Beast was.

Speaking of Beauty And The Beast, that show will conclude its run this summer, leaving its slot vacant for the 2016-17 season. One of the shows that has now been renewed (Reign, looking at you!) will most likely move into that summer slot, perhaps joined by one or two more.

The only The CW series that still has an uncertain fate is Julie Plec’s Containment, but that is not really surprising since the show will only air its series premiere on April 19th.
