AMC renews Preacher for extended Season 2

The show is only halfway its first season, but AMC has already renewed Preacher for a second season. What’s more is that the sophomore season will consist of 13 episodes, which is 3 more than the inaugural season.

Preacher follows a preacher from Texas who becomes possessed by a supernatural being named Genesis. Genesis is the spawn of an angel and a demon, making him both pure evil and pure good and thus a powerful entity. The preachers goes on a search to find God, possibly to beat him (or her, of course) up. He is helped by his girlfriend and an alcoholic vampire.

Preacher has aired 5 episodes of its 10-episode first season so far. It airs on Sundays at 9/8c on AMC, and a catch-up marathon of all 5 aired episodes will air tomorrow, Thursday June 30th, at 9/8c.
