NBC Fall Premiere Dates: New series The Good Place, This Is Us, and Timeless will all premiere behind The Voice

NBC is the first network to announce its premiere dates for Fall 2016. Interestingly, the network has decided not to premiere shows leading out of its Olympics coverage in August.

Instead, the fall season will kick off on Wednesday, September 14th with the season premiere of Blindspot in a special timeslot at 10/9c leading out of the finale of America’s Got Talent, before it moves to its regular 8/7c slot a week later on the 21st.

The first new series to debut is Kristen Bell/Ted Danson comedy The Good Place, which will have a 1-hour premiere in a special timeslot at 10/9c leading out of The Voice on Monday, September 19th. After that, it will move to its regular Thursdays at 8:30/7:30c slot starting the 22nd.

Tuesday September 20th will see the series premiere of buzzed-about drama This Is Us, also in a special timeslot following The Voice at 10/9c (sensing a pattern already?). The show will shift to Tuesdays at 9/8c, still leading out of the shrunken The Voice, starting October 11th. The 10/9c slot will then be filled with Chicago Fire.

Wednesday September 21st sees the aforementioned timeslot premiere of Blindspot and the season premieres of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Chicago P.D. On Thursday the 22nd, Superstore, Chicago Med and The Blacklist will have their season premieres, and The Good Place lands in the 8:30/7:30 slot.

Finally, on October 3rd, Eric Kripke’s new time travel drama Timeless will debut at 10/9c as the third new series leading out of (you guessed it) The Voice.
