Shortly after NBC announced The Player will stop production after its ninth episode, ABC cuts Blood And Oil‘s episode order to ten. The show was already certain to be cancelled because it was failing in the adults 18-49 demographic, but ABC just sealed the deal with this reduction. Blood And Oil is effectively cancelled and will air its remaining six episodes as scheduled. Blood And Oil centers on a couple trying to make it in the oil industry, while going up against a ruthless tycoon. The season is expected to wrap up early December.
