With the recently announced Disney / FOX deal, it means that shows produced by 20th Century Fox will suddenly become in-house shows for ABC and their chances of renewal will become better because of syndication prospects. That may change things for Fresh Off The Boat and Speechless. Both are already Likely Renewals, but later on in the season, this may just give them a little extra nudge towards a renewal.

ABC has also recently cancelled its freshman comedy The Mayor. With the ratings it had been getting, that of course did not come as a surprise. ABC is not exactly short on comedies, so if a new series doesn’t perform well, it is very easy to get rid of it.

As ABC and Marvel are both owned by Disney, it is unlikely that both Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Marvel’s Inhumans will be cancelled this season. S.H.I.E.L.D. is aging and quite expensive, but Inhumans got worse ratings. For now, we are predicting that Inhumans will not make the cut, and as a result, Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. will stick around for at least one more season.
