NBC has opted to cancel the crime anthology Law & Order: True Crime, as indicated by the network billing tonight’s season finale as the show’s series finale in its promos.

The show started out fairly good in the ratings, but it has been dropping ever since and was not able to hold enough viewers’ attention.

Law & Order: True Crime‘s 8-episode first and only season revolves around the brutal murders by the Menendez brothers of their wealthy parents that took place in 1989 in Beverly Hills. It stars Edie Falco as the brothers’ defense attorney.
