Creators and writers Harry and Jack Williams have all but confirmed that there will be no third season of the acclaimed BBC/Starz series The Missing. Rather, part of the show might return in the form of a spin-off.

“We want to do something with Tcheky [Karyo, the actor portraying Baptiste] again – we want to keep that character alive,” said Harry. “I think we will revisit him in some form or another. I’d be leaning towards a spin-off, personally. But God knows what any of the channels think.”

But even though the series received acclaim among critics and viewers, there will be no third season.

“We were so pleased that people liked The Missing,” Jack said. “You don’t want them to be like, ‘Oh, and then they made the third one and it was shit!'”
