Showtime has renewed its drama about stand-up comedy in the 1970s I’m Dying Up Here for a second season. Network president Gary Levine announced the news.

The show is expected to start production again in the fall, with the 10-episode sophomore season set to premiere in 2018.

Executive produced by Jim Carrey, I’m Dying Up Here is set in L.A.’s stand-up comedy scene of the 1970s. In this time, many of the comedy superstars began their work. The show follows up-and-coming comedians who perform at a brassy comedy club, which is ruled with an iron fist by its owner Goldie (Melissa Leo).
