In the summer, we make renewal and cancellation predictions every last Sunday of the month. So check back on July 30th for the latest!

NBC’s current summer shows are The Carmichael Show and The Night Shift. Comedy The Carmichael Show is currently in its third season, but that only brings it to a total of 32 episodes, so it is not remotely close to syndication. Last year, renewal negotiations were very difficult and took a long time, which may diminish the chances of the show getting renewed again. On the other hand, it now airs in the summer and its ratings have been a lot steadier so far. All in all, it seems reasonable to list The Carmichael Show as a Likely Renewal.

The Night Shift premiered only a few days ago, with ratings that are only OK. A lot can happen over a month until our next predictions, but it seems highly unlikely that a show would be cancelled halfway through its fourth season. Therefore, The Night Shift is also a Likely Renewal for now.

Other summer fare that is still coming up at NBC is drama Midnight, Texas, which premieres on Monday, July 24th, and comedy Marlon, which bows on Wednesday, August 16th.
