The broadcast upfront presentations for 2017 are near, and that means that it is time for our Final Predictions. Back in January, The CW renewed many of its shows. This means there are only a few shows left without an official decision. These four shows are iZombie, The Originals, Frequency and No Tomorrow. The easy predictions are No Tomorrow and Frequency. Both shows have done very badly in the ratings and it’s certain they will not return.

With iZombie and The Originals it’s a little more complex. Both shows are getting about the same Adults 18-49 ratings, but they have very different predictions. The Originals will reach a total of 79 episodes by the end of this season. For The CW this is usually the cue to cancel a show if it’s not performing exceptionally well. Since the show is, indeed, not getting great ratings, this means The Originals is likely to be cancelled.

iZombie, on the other hand, will have a total of 45 episodes. Since The CW tends to nudge nearly all of its series to the 70 episodes syndication mark, even if the show is getting fairly low ratings, iZombie is likely to be renewed as well for this reason.
