ABC decided to get things over with, and announced almost all of their renewals at once. Here we go, by genre.

In the drama section, ABC grants new seasons to Secrets & Lies, American Crime, Castle, Grey’s Anatomy, Nashville, ScandalMarvel’s Agent Carter, Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Once Upon A Time.

On to comedy, where Fresh Off The Boat, The Goldbergs, Galavant, The Middle, Modern Family, and Black-ish will all be back next season.

Finally, there is also a bunch of unscripted programs that have been renewed, namely Shark Tank, Beyond The Tank, The Bachelor, America’s Funniest Home Videos and Dancing With The Stars.

There can’t only be good news, though, so check out here which two dramas, one comedy and one unscripted series have been cancelled.

The only show that has not been renewed or cancelled yet on ABC is Tim Allen comedy Last Man Standing.

Our Upfronts Guide has been updated with all the latest.

As an American Crime fan, I must ask *how* this was renewed. Is ABC anticipating possible Emmy potential? Reviews are mostly positive but commercial reception hasn’t been great, to say the least. The ratings went fractional on more than one occasion and I was really worried about its future. Having Scandal as a lead in is smart, in theory; but I think a Secrets & Lies pairing might would’ve been better for a show of this nature. In any rate, on to S2 and hopefully better promotion.

    • We weren’t expecting American Crime to be renewed. However, since it has been renewed, ABC must have something up its sleeve. Maybe they’re going for some awards, possibly an Emmy. This is not such a wild idea, since 12 Years A Slave writer John Ridley is also attached to American Crime. It’s also possible they hope the second season will do better. It is an anthology series after all, so they can pretty much do whatever they want with the new season.
