ABC: Killer Women already a Likely Cancellation, Revenge Certain Renewal
By Daniel Redford on January 12, 2014
Other recent Renewals and Cancellations on ABC:
- ABC Recap: Of all networks ABC is probably the one with the best season, even with the loss of Selfie and Manhattan Love Story (December 21st)
- ABC Predictions: The Goldbergs and The Middle renewed (December 14th)
Yesterday, after just two extremely low-rated episodes, ABC cancelled The Assets. Interestingly, it seemed like the Alphabet network already saw it coming, since it changed the official billing of the show from limited series (with short but potentially many seasons) to miniseries (just one season).
As ABC’s lowest rating Tuesday premiere ever, with ratings that don’t even reach the magical 1.0, Killer Women doesn’t stand a chance. Never mind that we just have one data point to work with for this one, because we don’t really need to see any more: Killer Women is not going to make it. Out of grace for the fans and everyone involved with the show, Killer Women will drop to a Likely Cancellation this week.
Revenge, on the other hand, managed to pick up to the highest ratings since its October 6 episode. Especially pending the show’s move to the 10/9c timeslot starting March 9th, it won’t hurt to have the lead-in of The Bachelor specials this month. Regardless, syndication money is a powerful force to get a show renewed through a fourth season. Even the ratings disaster that was called Nikita got a (short) fourth season. Revenge is thus a Certain Renewal.
