ABC has announced a March premiere date for its upcoming revival of American Idol.

As expected, the singing competition will air for 2 hours on Sundays at 8/7c starting on March 11th. It will use the Oscars one week before on March 4th as a launching pad.

In the new iteration, the show has moved from FOX to ABC, and will be hosted by Ryan Seacrest. The new jury consists of Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan. Auditions for the new season have commenced in August, covering 23 cities throughout the U.S.
