According to TVLine.com ABC’s Scandal will end after its seventh season. ABC hasn’t confirmed or denied the rumors, and it’s expected the network will wait with the formal announcement until its upfront presentation on Tuesday. Currently wrapping up its sixth season, Scandal was renewed for its seventh season in February. The upcoming season will be the last, which was sort of expected.

Series creator Shonda Rhimes earlier made a remark about Scandal being heavily serialized and having a high-stakes narrative, which would not allow the show to go on for seasons on end, unlike for example Grey’s Anatomy. As loyal fans of Scandal will know, the story is slowly coming to an end, making ABC’s decision, or rather that of Rhimes, not very surprising.

With the Upfronts fast approaching, the networks will announce their decisions for renewing or cancelling shows withing the coming days. Please DO NOT cancel this series. It is great with all the twists and turns. I really love all the actors and they work well together. Keep it going.

    • This was a creative decision made by producer Shonda Rhimes and her team. At some point, all the twists and turns have to come to an end or it will start to become ridiculous.
