Some interesting rumors about Studio City: Although it hasn’t been picked up by FOX for the fall and is not supposed to appear on the schedule come Monday, Studio City should not be written off yet. According to Deadline, the Erick McCormack (Will & Grace) pilot may be revisited by FOX for midseason after the upfronts. [Deadline]

Series orders

NBC has ordered Dick Wolf reality court series You The Jury (working title) to series. The one-hour series will be live and will let viewers decide the verdict in real-life civil cases. Wolf also has four scripted series on NBC next season: Law & Order: SVU, Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med. [Variety]

Big Little Lies, which stars Oscar winners Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon, has been given a straight-to-series commitment by HBO. The limited series is based on Liane Moriarty’s book of the same name. The series focuses on three mothers to kindergartners. Their seemingly perfect lives unravel, until they cross the line and resort to murder. [THR]

Casting

NBC’s newly picked up People Are Talking will have to recast its lead role. Their former lead actress, Bring Human’s Meaghan Rath, was also the lead in FOX’s The Guide To Surviving Life. The latter had her in first position, meaning NBC will have to find someone else to star in their new addition. [Deadline]

ABC’s straight-to-series drama Shadowhunters has cast Matthew Daddario (Delivery Man) and Isaiah Mustafa (Horrible Bosses) as Alec Lightwood and Luke Garroway, respectively. Alex is secretly in love, and tortured by it, with his adoptive brother Jace (portrayed by Dominic Sherwood). Luke is a werewolf pack leader, the one thing he used to hate most in life when he was still a powerful shadowhunter. [Deadline]
